Our story

Hey, I’m Chelsea – founder, creator, and proud owner of Monarch Studio. I’ve always been a tactile person – someone who touches every fabric in a store, loves playing with colour combos, and genuinely gets excited about a crisp seam.

Monarch Studio started as a home-based hustle fuelled by coffee, creativity, and a serious obsession with texture. Since then, it’s grown into a boutique business with a big heart and an even bigger fabric stash.

I believe good design should make you feel something – whether it's calm, joy, nostalgia, or just the comfort of being at home. That’s why I pour thought, care, and craftsmanship into every single piece that leaves the studio.

When I'm not stitching or fluffing up cushions, you’ll probably find me on the hockey turf, lifting weights in the gym, or rearranging the couch for the third time this week "just to see".

Favourite colour: It changes weekly… currently obsessed with mustard and forest green.

Favourite job: Recovering squabs for a tiny house in the Coromandel – dream project!
